Light Imprint

Light Imprint is an ethereal time capsule preserving this chapter of my life. Weaving nostalgic pads, jaw harp, rhythmic pulses and my daughter’s voice recorded moments after birth, it transforms the light that shapes memory into a luminous sonic journey through time.

Light Imprint was created as a time capsule of this chapter of my life: a way of preserving the feelings and moments that surround me now, before they begin to transform into light and memory.

The track is rooted in the idea that our lives are shaped by light. We move through places, relationships and different versions of ourselves, yet memories remain illuminated within us. Light gives form not only to what we see, but also to what we remember.

I wanted to imagine what that light might sound like inside memory. Nostalgic pads create a hazy, dreamlike space, while driving rhythmic pulses give the music a sense of movement through time. The jaw harp brings an earthy, physical resonance to the track while marking the beginning of my relationship with the instrument.

At the heart of the piece is a recording of my daughter’s voice made moments after her birth. It is one of the most magical sounds I could preserve, and it will continue to live within this track.
