Makas

Şahin, a Dutch musician with Turkish roots, draws inspiration from Turkish folk, Anatolian rock, and his father's vinyl collection. His dream is to unite these influences, representing a new generation of Anatolian music and multicultural Dutch identity.

After studying with masters of Turkish folk music and playing in various bands, Şahin founded MAKAS, symbolizing hope, freedom, and courage. The band blends eastern melodies with rock energy, creating music for all audiences. Şahin’s voice and presence, rooted in tradition and powerful emotions, leave a lasting impression. MAKAS has performed across Europe and Turkey, captivating hearts with their unique sound. Their debut album Dinazor (2020) made waves, and fans eagerly await their upcoming second release, produced by Timucin Aksuer. As Taner Ongur of Moğollar says: "MAKAS is one of the most important representatives of Anatolian rock today."
