Lycia

Lycia is inspired by the ancient Lycian civilization in the Taurus Mountains, meaning “Land of Light.” This track is a kind of lament for the people and stories of lost worlds, their voices and ideas. I grew up visiting ancient Lycian cities: amphitheaters and necropolises surrounded by mountains, forests, sand dunes, and ruins sunken beneath the Mediterranean waters. These raw places reminded me that we are just grains of sand, carried by the wind through the eternity of time. The Lycians believed in the soul’s journey. With this track, I tried to guide the listener on a similar path of discovery through deep rhythms, echoing vocals, and improvised keys. I imagine Lycia playing in spaces where music, nature, and community come together, just like the Lycians once gathered in ritual and celebration.
